St Mark’s Lenten Meditations From Our Members

Lent Week 4—Monday

Psalm 89:1-18         Genesis 49:1-28      1 Corinthians 10:14-11:1 Mark 7:24-37

Mark 7:24-37 provides two examples of Jesus helping those that are unable to help themselves.  The first part of the passage Jesus honors a faithful woman’s request by releasing the demon from her child.  Our children fight with demons every day.  We pray that we have given them the strength to make the right decisions that will keep them safe.

The second part of the passage Jesus heals a deaf and mute man at the request of the caring people.  Many of our neighbors and friends are struggling with health issues.  We pray for their healing and that god will relieve them from their ailments. Two examples of people asking for help for another, both are unable to help themselves.  The people asking are showing their care, concern and love for another.

God is clearly showing he provides for us when we can’t provide for ourselves. We all fight demons and health issues of loved ones. Let us pray for help and healing of our neighbors.
